reMind provides professional psychological services to adolescents (over 15 years of age), and adults, within a warm, friendly and supportive environment. We offer both face to face and Telehealth appointments.
At reMind we:
- Conduct thorough psychological assessments and administer evidenced based treatments and interventions.
- Work with businesses to improve the mental fitness of their employees. We offer employment assistance, mental fitness programs and workplace presentations.
- Promote mental health, and reduce stigma, though community education presentations in a variety of settings including schools and health care centers.
- Support parents and carers by facilitating ‘Tuning in to Teens®’- a globally recognised evidence-based parenting program.
- Assist NDIS clients with capacity building to increase their independence.
- Advocate strategies to preserve and promote better mental health through media interviews and articles.
Fees
A standard 50-minute individual consultation session starts from $220. (NOTE: The fee will increase to $240 from 1.9.26.)

Clients will be required to secure their appointment with a credit card then pay the full fee the day prior to their appointment. If clients do not wish to secure their appointment with a credit card, the appointment must be prepaid 72 hours prior to their appointment via cash or direct bank transfer. For Monday appointments this must be received the previous Friday. Failure to do so may result in the appointment being cancelled and offered to another client on our waiting list.
Additional Fees
Cancellation fee
A cancellation fee of $70 will be charged if less than 48 hours notice is given. If a cancellation fee is charged, it must be paid before any future appointments can be booked. For Monday appointments, please notify the practice by 12pm the Friday before. If you cancel the day of your appointment, or no-show, you will be charged 50% of the standard consultation fee.
After hours appointments
A $20 surcharge will apply to after hours appointments, i.e. any appointment outside of 9am-5pm Monday to Friday.
Administrative fees
A fee may also be charged for any out of session requirements, such as lengthy correspondence with other professionals, writing reports or other significant administration tasks. Please discuss this with your practitioner if you think this may apply to you.

Frequently asked questions
Psychologists are experts in human behaviour, mental processes, personality and emotion, and use those skills to help people live happy, healthy lives. Psychologists have specialized training in assessment, diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders. They also support individuals who are not necessarily diagnosed with a mental disorder. For example complex grief, social skills training, relationship problems, stress management, goal setting, parenting advice or improving self confidence and motivation just to name a few.
In Australia, the title “psychologist” is a legally protected title, meaning only registered health practitioners with the required qualifications can use it. The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), a federal government agency, enforces this regulation to ensure public safety and trust. So, technically, anyone can call themselves a counsellor, life coach, social worker or psychotherapist. Be aware that these industries are self-regulated and this has the potential to be dangerous for the consumer. While we acknowledge that these professions can be very helpful for individuals with mild to moderate distress, it is recommended that you check carefully their qualifications, and how they record, store and protect your confidential information.
Psychologists undergo a rigorous amount of education and training. Currently, to become a registered psychologist, individuals must complete a minimum of 6 years of university qualifications, including three degrees: (bachelor, honors, masters degrees). In addition, they must complete placements and internships involving thousands of hours of workplace training, professional development and supervision. Lastly, they must pass the Psychology Board of Australia 3.5 hour exam. ‘The exam helps to protect the public by ensuring that only those practitioners who are suitably trained and qualified to practise psychology in a competent and ethical manner are registered. The exam also helps to ensure a consistent professional standard of psychologists nationally’ (Psychology Board of Australia, AHPRA).
You can self refer to see a Psychologist, meaning you can contact us directly, and make an appointment. However, you can access a rebate from Medicare if you obtain a referral from a private treating consultant psychiatrist or paediatrician or obtain a mental health care plan (MHCP) and referral from your GP. A MHCP provides rebates for up to ten individual psychology sessions per calendar year. Medicare rebates start from $101.55 for a 50+ minute individual session with a general psychologist. Rebate amounts vary depending on the length of the session and whether it is in-person, Telehealth or as part of a group.
